Certificate in Basic Theory of TCM course is specially designed for the general public to have an essential basic knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It caters to those who wish to learn more about TCM or those with intention to engage in TCM related jobs and business. After completion of the course, students will have a good foundation in the basic theory of TCM and will be able to pursue further studies in other TCM courses such as Certificate in TCM Assistant.

Course Objectives:
  • To be proficient in the basic theory of TCM and related TCM diagnostic knowledge.
  • To understand the Chinese Materia Medica and TCM Formulary, allowing one to be proficient in Chinese medicine and drugs, and the principle of prescription.
  • To understand the basic general healthcare for self-care and disease prevention.
  • To enhance TCM knowledge so as to lay a good foundation for future TCM clinic management and pharmacy services.
  • To lay a good foundation to prepare for further TCM related courses such as Diploma in TCM Assistant.
Target group:
  • Concern about healthcare, interest in TCM;
  • Practitioners of TCM industry;
  • Chinese medicine general health personnel, nursing homes practitioners;
  • Considering a career change to engage in TCM-related industries.
Entry Requirement:
Minimum secondary one with any 3 subjects passed or equivalent or higher; Or
Applicants with other academic qualifications and extensive working experiences will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Language proficiency: English, Minimum passed mark of 50 in secondary one English or equivalent or higher.
Criteria for Graduation and Certificate: Completion of all the modules, attendance rate is 75% or above, passes all assessments and examinations, approval by the Board of Examiners. Certificate conferred by Singapore College of TCM: CERTIFICATE IN BASIC THEORY OF TCM (CHINESE) 中医药基础课程毕业证书 (中文)
